I’ve been practicing swirls and circles. This is on the white negative space of the quilt shown in my December 31st post. I think I was fairly successful for my first quilting attempt with this design. I need to concentrate on being circular although I have to say a little oblong often fills the space a bit better sometimes…
Next leaves and berries…
I think you are very brave to try FMQ on a finished quilt. I’d be terrified that I would ruin my work….how do you manage to design and keep your stitches accurate? Have you taken a class in this or just learned how to do it by doing it?
I already had done a lot of stippling and it was time to branch out. I didn’t realize you could do designs with FMQ so once I realized I watched on Craftsy class for ideas and went for it. I did practice on scraps first. I’ll upload my second design on this quilt tonight or tomorrow. I like that one better.
Thanks! I don’t know how to make designs. There was a Craftsy class on FMQ? PS: I told EC we were quilting/blogging/sewing friends online and she was glad! (-:
Ha! C. thinks so, too. I watched Angela Walters on Craftsy. It was helpful to just see the machine in action with the designs.
