Millie Monday

This weekend I took a quick trip up to the MQX show in Manchester, NH.  For some reason  I was less impressed than other years, although I did attend during it’s last three hours, so maybe that was why.  There were some beautiful quilts, but I think I am of the opinion more is just more when it comes to some quilt designs.  Sometimes one just has to hold back, IMO.  Nonetheless, a few did get me to thinking.  There were some lovely quilted plain non-cotton pieces.  It looked like it would be fun to try a quilting design on a different type of material so I pulled out some saris that I happen to have and studied them:

I need to spend some time with a pencil and drawing paper for a while before I can decide for sure.  I’ll also have to determine what function the completed project will have as I don’t like form without function.

So, right now, Millie is colorfully and exotically dressed while I ponder.  Happy quilting and, finally, happy spring!

  1. Good luck with your form for that beautiful material. 🙂 I went to the show last year and thought there was more thread for sale than anything else. Dare I say that? 🙂 I got about an hours of sashing done today but most of my day was spent outside. 🙂

LOL. They do have thread, but I bought nothing. 🙂
